President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA says traditional ceremonies play an important role in promoting a sense of belonging, nationalism and preservation of the country’s cultural heritage.

President Hichilema says the new dawn Government acknowledges that traditional ceremonies are a unifying factor as they provide vital a platform for Government and traditional leaders to interface and share ideas.

President HICHILEMA says the Government has reaffirmed its commitment to continue to encourage traditional leaders to celebrate traditional ceremonies as a way of preserving the country’s national identity.

He stated that the UPND Government will continue to support traditional ceremonies as a critical component of cultural tourism.

He said this when he graced the Gonde Lwiindi Traditional ceremony of the Tonga Speaking people in Monze today.

And Chief Monze has thanked the government and the business community for the support.
The Lwiindi Traditional Ceremony is an occasion when the Tonga speaking of Southern Province come together to Celebrate harvest through feasting and cultural dancing.
